Calvin & Susie Hawaii Animal Foundation advocates Trap-Neuter-Return and Trap-Neuter-Return-Monitor/Manage, as the most humane way to control population. TNR returns the cat to its original colony or habitat where it can best thrive in familiar surroundings that have proven to be beneficial. TNRM (also advocated by CatFriends) returns the cat to its habitat where it remains under supervision of cat colony caretakers. This ensures community health and monitoring of births/new breeding cats.
